Here at FUMC, we have two Groups that gather on a weekly basis: Jr. High Student Life is geared for students in grades 5-7, or ages 10-12. Our Jr. High students are filled with energy and are eager to grow in their faith. Sr. High Student Life is geared for students in grades 8-12, or ages 13-18. Our Sr. High students are world changers who are hungry and thirsty for more of God and long for authentic relationships with other young believers in Jesus Christ.

We have three venues to get plugged into on a weekly basis: Grapple, held on Sunday morning from 9:10 to 10:15am is open for Jr. & Sr. High Students who like to wrestle through questions about faith and life. Student Life Teen Night, is held on Sunday evening's from 4:00 to 6:00pm for Jr. High Students and from 5:30 to 7:30pm for Sr. High Students. LifeGroup, which is the small group ministry for students, meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm.

Simply put, this is a group filled with young people who are seeking to "live out" their faith together - as one big family. We desire to grow in faith and tackle topics that are meaningful to students today. We believe in equipping and empowering young people to be the hands and feet of Christ - to be servant leaders in a world that is longing for something worth living and dying for. We find no greater cause, than the cause of Christ. Feel like something is missing in your life? Seeking something more? Come check us out!

Do you have tough questions about life and faith that you are seeking answers to? Questions like: Why should I trust God?, Is Jesus the only way to heaven?, What if I really messed up?, Can God forgive me after all I've done?, Do all good people go to heaven?, Why does God allow suffering? GRAPPLE is the place to come and wrestle through these questions and more. GRAPPLE is for Jr. & Sr. High Students and meets on Sunday mornings from 9:10-10:15am in the Youth Room. Our last GRAPPLE session for the school year will take place this Sunday, May 31st.

LifeGroup is our Wednesday evening Small Group Bible Study & Discussion Group that meets from 7-8pm in the Youth Room. Interested Jr. & Sr. High Students are always welcome to attend. Our last LifeGroup meeting for the school year will meet this Wednesday, May 27th. Hope to see you!

Our Sunday evening ministry, Student Life Teen Night, will be gathering for the annual END OF YEAR BBQ-SR. FAREWELL-ALUMNI HOMECOMING NIGHT this Sunday, May 31st from 4:00-6:00pm. This annual event is always a great time. Come on out and reconnect!

Wondering what to expect at Student Life? Come expecting to have a great time hanging out with other teens from Schuylkill Haven, Orwigsburg, Cressona, Pine Grove, Pottsville and Auburn. You'll hear some great music. Some will battle on the grid iron with a game of John Madden or some other totally obnoxious game. Watch cool videos, be challenged in your faith with devos, talk about life with other teens that face what you do each and every day at home or at school.

Student Life is a place to come and be yourself - no strings attached - no masks to wear - no pressure to "fit in." We're one big family who seeks to worship God and have a blast living life together as followers of Christ.

Summer is here and we're having a great time at FUMC. The Student Ministry went on a hike to Bushkill Falls in the Poconos on Wednesday, June 24th. A great time was had by all. Be sure to check the website on a regular basis for upcoming Summer of 2009 events!

The FUMC Student Ministries will have a very big role in leading the VBS outreach, scheduled this summer for June 8-12. Are you gifted in art, music, drama, photography, media, leading games, or working with children? We need YOU! The final two Work Nights for VBS have been scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd and May 17th from 4:00-6:00pm. If you would like more information, please contact Pastor Kris.

We are excited to announce that we are planning a trip to Knoebels for Saturday, May 16th. We will gather at FUMC at 12:00pm and will spend the day at Knoebels, departing to return home at 8pm. Admission is only $19, children under 48" are $14. Price includes transportation for the first 15 students who register. Roller Coasters are included in the cost. The Haunted Mansion and Scenic Skyway are not included. Students should bring spending money for meal expenses. Registration is located on the bottom of this webpage and will close on Sunday, May 10th.

The students at FUMC raised over $700 to help fight hunger through the 30 Hour Famine, held this past Friday & Saturday, February 27th & 28th. The Famine weekend was filled with meaninful worship experiences, tribal competitions, and raising awareness through casual conversations at the Cressona Mall. The commitment of the students in our group is anything but casual. The Lord is using our students to truly make an impact!

We're looking forward to another incredible missions trip for the Summer of '09 as we prepare to travel to Steubenville, Ohio. Steubenville is located just 30 minutes west of Pittsburgh, PA. Plenty of information has been posted on the MISSIONS TRIP page, located under the "EVENTS" tab to the left.

To live a life fully devoted and dedicated to God
